Context

An implementation run delivered a full architecture block across multiple sub-issues using explicit user gates (GO TASKSET N) before each execution phase.

Learning

Taskset gating converts AI-assisted implementation from a black-box activity into a measurable, contract-driven delivery loop. Each stage can be reviewed, accepted, and then advanced, reducing risk and improving decision quality. The strongest business value came from coupling each gate with concrete verification output (tests, tool registration checks, and issue-state transitions). This created clear proof of completion and reduced ambiguity around “done”.

Strategic Takeaway

For cross-service delivery programs, enforce gated execution as standard operating procedure. It improves confidence for technical and non-technical stakeholders while preserving execution velocity.
